Merging traditional craft with Art Deco inspiration

Overview

To design Avenir House, we developed a rich storytelling brand that bridges traditional craftsmanship with modern Art Deco elegance. Inspired by the brand's name—"future" in French—we crafted a logo featuring a deco-style flower pointing North to symbolize a forward-looking home. The resulting identity blends a "craft but modern" feel to evoke warm, inviting environments.

About

Avenir House was a furniture and home accessory design store based in Mexico. The brand sought to seamlessly integrate a crafted yet modern feeling into its offerings, intentionally designed to evoke warm, homelike environments. By looking at home decor through an integral perspective, the store positioned itself as a creator of meaningful spaces, establishing an emotional connection with an audience that valued both contemporary style and comforting, high-quality design.

Visual Narrative

The visual narrative for Avenir House built a rich, storytelling brand that connected with its audience on a deeply emotional level. The core concept drew heavy inspiration from Art Deco, a timeless style of visual art, architecture, and design known for its geometric elegance and sophisticated flair. At the heart of this narrative was the store's unique logo, which evoked a deco-style flower blooming upward from a house. This floral element pointed directly to the North, a deliberate visual metaphor for its name, Avenir, which means "future" in French.

Design Evolution & Strategy

The design process evolved by blending the nostalgic, structured elegance of the Art Deco movement with a fresh, forward-looking aesthetic. Designers focused on merging traditional craftsmanship sensibilities with clean, modern lines to ensure the brand felt nostalgic yet relevant. By taking the concept of a "home" and elevating it with the symbolic North-facing deco flower, the visual identity successfully transitioned from a standard retail concept into a cohesive, future-oriented brand that celebrated the evolution of living spaces.
