Overview
We crafted a modern, minimalist identity for Becoming architecture studio, balancing organic lines with geometric precision. The design utilizes a sophisticated gray-scale and green palette to communicate innovation and "form follows function," positioning the firm for success across the Dominican Republic and New York markets.
Becoming was an architecture and interior design studio based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Founded in 2021 by Jorge Guzman—a Dominican entrepreneur based in New York with extensive background in the hospitality industry—the studio quickly established a highly diversified portfolio spanning residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality projects. Driven by an entrepreneurial vision, the firm dedicated its practice to crafting modern, compelling spaces that elevated the built environment across multiple sectors.
The visual narrative for Becoming was designed to capture a compelling, attractive identity that could effortlessly excel within a competitive industry. The brand's core concept centered around the ideas of constant transformation and the relentless pursuit of innovation. This narrative came to life through smooth, organic lines that flowed gracefully across the identity, balancing structural precision with human warmth. It established a visual language that felt deeply connected to the fluid evolution of space, design, and identity.
The design process evolved by translating the classic architectural principle of "form follows function" into a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. The cornerstone of this evolution was the logo, which utilized Archivo—a narrow, geometric typography designed by Omnibus-Type—to mirror the precise art and structured architecture conceived by the studio. By stripping away superficial ornamentation, the visual identity successfully transitioned into a timeless and sophisticated brand system, beautifully anchoring the studio's forward-looking design philosophy.
